Could your lost pet be at the Guilford County Animal Shelter? HOW TO FIND YOUR PET

Available Critters - Guilford County Animal Shelter

Last updated August 5, 2008

The shelter is open 7 days a week to the public 12:00 to 6:00 Monday thru Saturday, 1:00 to 5:00 on Sunday, with the exception of some holidays.

Please note that the selection of "critters" or "Pocket Pets" (as we call our small friends) available for adoption can change on a daily basis, as space becomes available in the Front Lobby.

When you visit the shelter, if you don't see the pet you are interested in, please inquire; sometimes they have just been moved to another location in the shelter.

We need good homes with loving companions too.

She is a curious girl, watching what goes on and who comes around.  She was running around loose when Animal Control picked her up.  Lilly (ID #5578425) looks cute with those big old long ears hanging down. She is an adult goat just waiting for her new home and caregivers.  Adoption fee is $35.

*Ask to see me, I am in the outside housing area.

What a loveable and easy to be with boy!  Batman (ID #5375359) is extremely friendly and really enjoys petting and being held.  Batman was surrendered when his owner developed allergies, and they must have spent a lot of one on one time together.  Batman is a 2 year old Dwarf rabbit that has been neutered.  He can go home with a loving, interactive caregiver today for only $15.

*Just ask to visit me, I am in the surgery building.

Hammy (ID #4405910) is an adult salt & pepper grey Lop eared rabbit.  He was spotted and brought in by Animal Control.  Since his arrival Hammy has been neutered.  He is very socialized and truly enjoys getting some petting and quiet words spoken to him. Adoption fee is $15.

*Located in the front lobby.

Poto (ID #5490429) is a loveable young ferret.  She likes to be snuggled and will curl up in all kinds of strange positions.  Ferrets like to sleep in strange positions too, so don’t worry if it looks like they are extremely uncomfortable, because they like it!  Poto is beige with chocolate markings and she was lucky to be found by Animal Control and not a predator. It is only $45 to adopt me.

*Just ask to see me as I am not in the front lobby.

Rody (ID #5492877) is a young guinea pig at about 4 months old.    He lost his home when his owners opted for separation.  He is mostly black with some white and brown markings on him.  He is neutered and ready to share his life with a caring, loving companion.  This is a great age to help him become very sociable giving him daily gentle human contact. $15 gets me for you.

*Located in the front lobby.

Sylph (ID #5518325) is a quiet adult Dutch bunny.  She was found and is hopeful of finding a companion who will interact gently with her.  She is mostly grey, with a white dot on her nose.  She was just spayed so that she can come home with her new friend. Take me home for only $15 adoption fee.

*just ask to see me, I am located in the surgery building.

Zuko (ID #5296941) is a beautiful Dwarf rabbit.  She is almost all white, but has grey around the outside of her ears and a spot on her little tail.  She liked getting some petting from me, as she is missing her previous family.  She was surrendered when they moved. $15 adoption fee.

*Located in the surgery building.

Poor Butter (ID #4695599) was surrendered when they brought home the baby from the hospital.  Butter is accustomed to interacting with her caregiver and liked the petting I shared with her.  Butter is a brown adult Dutch rabbit that has already been spayed.  Adoption fee is only $15 for rabbits.

*Located in the surgery building.
